The story behind CEPADIC

A message from our director

“Disability should never be understood only in terms of limitation.”

My name is Ruth, and I started CEPADIC because of my younger brother, Timothy.

Timothy is blind. Growing up beside him, I saw up close how many doors can stay closed to a child with a disability: in education, in being included, in getting opportunities, and in learning to live independently. Those barriers were never about what Timothy could not do. They were about what the world around him was not ready to offer.

That experience shaped how I see disability. I refuse to define it only by limitation. I believe every child with a disability has abilities and potential, and that these grow when a child receives the right support, opportunity and encouragement.

CEPADIC is my answer: a practical place where children, parents and caregivers can find support and build a path towards greater independence. Every wheelchair we hand over, every school we visit and every family we sit with is a step on that path.

If you believe what I believe, I invite you to walk with us.

Our belief

A seat at the table, for every child

At CEPADIC, we believe that every child, regardless of their physical or developmental challenges, deserves a seat at the table.

Our mission goes beyond just care. It’s about empowering parents, guardians and children with special needs to navigate life with dignity and hope.

Every child has a unique gift to offer the world, and sometimes all they need is a little extra support to let that light shine. Together, we are building a community where “special needs” simply means “special opportunities” to show love.
